Is 35K QD good package? URGENT
By ProspectsinQatar •
Hi
Is 35 K Qatari Dinar (inclusive of accommodation and everything) a good package as per living in Qatar? I want to save about 15K QD every month. Is that feasible? Can one save that much after paying high rents and other living costs associated. I plan to take a good 2 bedroom apartment somewhere near Grand Hamad Street(location of my work place).I have an average life style.
Q- What are some of good localities to stay near Grand Hamad Street
Q- How will be a 2 BHK furnished accommodation cost/range?
Q- How are the real estate agents? Straight forward, honest or manipulative?
Thanks for your help
Cheers
Thanks Mark, Porsche,Colt, whome,Bilabong for your valuable inputs.

Cheers
does the 7-15K include utilities? if not how much would those be. Especially electricity if the airconditioning is on alomst 24 hours..Cant handle the heat :-(
If you're coming on your own...you might be able to save even more! To have a good apartment makes you pay 10K max unless you wnat to have golden appliances and a 24h romm-service. If you say average lifestyle, and that reflects in your apartment, 10K is max. Everything else is wasted money for useless luxury. If you are alone, count 2K for food and dining out (if you are not going to the hotel restaurants regularly). Internet is 400QRS and add 200QRS for mobile each month. The car depends on what you giong to take. but a very good uesed car you can pay off for 30 month spending 2000 QRS. If new and depending on the duration of the loan you desire, it might be more, but that should not be the problem with your freakin high salary. Seriously, your package is the best I have heard of for a long time!
Yeh you could easily save 15K if you mention that you have an average lifestyle..
2 bedroom apt. 7 - 15K... fully furnished, depending on the area you wanna live, I saw a beautiful 2 bd room apt. overlooking the corniche for like 13K... house-keeping etc all inclusive.
I'd rather not deal with Real Estate agents, coz most of them don't bother once they get their money.
Petrol... minimal cost.
Food... very affordable too...
Fine Dining... same as UK, Europe, or US... or maybe a bit cheaper in some cases.
Cars... cheap, depends which one you go in for..
I reckon to save QR15K/month is possible. Fully furnished Apartment range from 7-12K/mth. Rental would be your highest expenditure. Food is about 3-4K a month for a family of 3. Eating out same as in UK I guess. Cars are cheap, same price as in US. Petrol is cheap at .55-.75/litre. All currency in QR.
Best of luck.

The question you should be asking yourself is whether 35 K Qatari Rials (not Dinar)is justifying what you are joining as...the Grade and Area of Work etc...
And Saving Potential is very very individual based.
You can easily save 15 K a month...or to put in another way, you can comfortably live off 20 K a month.
Q1. If you intend driving, any place in Doha- Sadd, Najma, West Bay, Marriot Area etc decent localities to stay
Q2. In the areas mentioned above, the rents will range from 7k- 15k for good 2 BHK accommodation. In Abu Hamour, you can a decent separate villa for 12-16 K.
Q3. Sorry, not dealt with Real Estate Agents in 3 years now...so would not know. But try to always speak to the OWNERS and not Middle Men.
Congrats and good luck
