New in Doha
Hello Qatar,
I am new to this site and i wonder whether i could request some feedback from some of you, in particular those that have moved there for career/work reasons.
When finding property to rent what were the main problems you encountered?, lack of contacts for a plumber or doctors for example.
Did you know where you wanted to stay before you arrived or did you move after a while once you had found a more suitable place.
What would have made the whole process easier when you were looking for a place to rent.

Find out hwere you will be working and then find a place near, or on the right side of Doha, traffic can be a nightmare. Rule of thumb all the western ex-pats tend to stay in the north and west. Judging by your name then likely you will fit in there.
The airport in in the south as is the power station.
Doctors are not a problem, there are local health clinics everywhere and then there is the HMC, the Hamad Medical Corporation. Conicidence?
Get in a compound if you can then you just yell at the manager to get this fixed, which you will need to do a lot....
