question about security

This may sound like a really strange question, but I'm having an issue with the guards in the new compound I just moved into.

I don't have a car so I rely on Carwa when I need to get anywhere. They have been extremely reliable but lately I've been late to everything because the security guards won't let taxis into the compound unless  the taxi driver can tell the guard my building number as well as my specific apartment number. A few days ago the driver finally got the guard to let him in but he wouldn't let him drive out until I told the guard myself what specific apartment I lived in. I explained later to the guards that it is innapropriate and compromises my safety to have strangers know exactly where I live. However I continue to have the same problems. Last night the guard threatened to call the police if the driver didn't leave. What is going on? Is this in anyway normal? I know that things operate differently here than they would in my own country, but this seems incredibly innapropriate to me.

anyone have similar experiences?

I think these procedures help u 2 live in more secure place, otherwise what is the diff bet a compund / normal buliding in the St. May b u accept a taxi drive in the compund alone and others See it as unsecure.

Any how i think u can find easy solution by comunication toll between your building and security gate (as land line) and u or any other living can call the gate informing about visitor / taxi / ...ect

Relax !! :)
