Employment Contract
I desperately need your advice right now!
I have just received a copy of my working visa from qatar chem. Yahoo???? Not quite... I was informed that I shall only be able to sign the contract when i do join them on the first day in the site. Is this normal?
Am i not supposed to get a copy of the contract with all the details filled-up before I join them? The only thing i received from them is the initial offer sheet (which i signed and sent back to them three weeks ago with all the medical certificates) but that does not completely state all the compensation that was stated in the initial email.
Btw, I am currently in riyadh saudi arabia and I am supposed to resign from my current employment to join them.
I want to trust them. Besides, it is Qatar Chem. But there is just a shred of doubt in my mind that the details in my contract will be changed once I am already in Qatar.
I did confirm from them and they did say that this is how things work. Is this true?

hi jrdebug, sa mga nabasa ko lang dito sa ibang posts, u have 2be sure that everything is written in the offer sheet before you sign it, coz as they say, "this is the middle east" kaya usually daw ang mga contract lang na by word, hindi masyadong sinusunod. but as you said, it's qchem, so i don't know.. baka naman maganda ang reputation nila. pero its good din siguro to follow up sa kanila dahil sabi mo 3 weeks ago na yun. usually daw nasa one week lang mag ayos ng visa, etc. ang companies. what i suggest is wag ka muna mag resign sa work mo until you cleared up everything with qchem. tutal ndi pa naman yung contract ang napipirmahan mo.
