changing visa status

Hello everyone. Well, I just got back to Doha recently and this time I didnt come with my mom (she'll be following in a few months) but my dad is already here. When I got here my visa was classified under 'visit' visa... well, can anyone confirm if I still have to wait for my mom to get to doha until we can transfer our visas as 'dependents' or can I change mine already since I'm here.
