Foreign national enrol in Qatari national school
Hi, I have a 19 month old son and wish for him to be integrated into a national school with an Arabic medium as I wish for him to pick up Arabic. Are foreign nationals allowed to enrol their chidlren in Qatari national schools? We are from Malaysia. My son is already conversing in Malay, English and Indonesian and understands all three languages well. We want him to learn Arabic. Are there kind's that teach Arabic? What about private lessons? Thanks.
Thank you for the reply. Yes I understand the first preference basis. Will try to look around for kindy's or nurseries with Arabic medium. Very keen for him to learn arabic and start reading the muqaddam as well.
Take care.
Salam Sister,
Yes, non-Qatari's can enrol in the local schools - but 1st preference is for Qatari (which is fair enough).
The school age is 6 years for year 1 - with some schools having KG1 and KG2.
There are a few nurseries that have an arabic medium, but I don't have any real info on that.
Hope that help, and is correct.
