Hi,
I'm from New Zealand, currently live in the UK (since Dec '06) and hold dual passports with the UK. I'm in the process of being considered for a job in Doha.
If I get it, my UK born wife will remain in the UK and I was intending to buy a house in the UK and support my wife from my Qatar salary.
But then I got thinking about taxes etc in the UK....can anyone give me a rundown on being taxed back in the UK on tax free salarys from the Mid East.
What are the tricks etc in ensuring my salary remains tax free? I currently have enough money to support my wife for a couple of years without touching the Qatar money.
At this stage, I don't know the actuall Qatar salary yet, but the offer is no lower than UK55000 pounds, but I believe that includes the accommo and vehicle allowances etc...
I'd like to save as much as possible with the intention of quickly paying off a mortgage in the UK so we're set up for a return to NZ after about 10 years or so.
Any advice would be appreciated. TIA
