Hi Eeveryone,

I was just wondering that if I want to do MBA while I am in Doha what options I have. Is there any university/college in Doha offering MBA? or I have to opt for distance learning.

Researching online doesn't seem to be leading me anywhere... From couple of calls that I have made, here is what I have found ->

1) Open universities like IGNOU (Indian - low fee str, classroom)

2) Qatar University - 30K+ per year, classroom

3) Universities under Qatar Foundation - Texas A&M, Virginia ec

4) AIIAS - Phillipines, 30000 QR, don't know much about the credentials.

Please do let me know if u guys have found out anything more... Call - 3537746

So is there MBA in doha or not ?

low cost MBA is an oxymoron.

judging by the comments in this thread people must keep low balances in their bank accounts. as the MBA will teach you, this is a dangerous practice as even banks can make mistakes and leave you short of funds.

Given the uncertainty re accreditation of Qatar University MBA maybe distance is the answer. Isnt the Open Business School - faculty of the UK based Open University - available here in Qatar? Granted it is open learning but the reputation is extremely high and the material if my first degree is anything to go by is first class!! Just a thought.

Well my search for an MBA was a little less than yours but fortunately i should say i took the decision and i donot regret it. I researched all over the net and approached all UK universities and many US universities.

But then i couldnot take the risk in this atmosphere to go abroad and study and leave my job. Also its not home anyway for us in Qatar so its probably better to earn and learn here.

What i found that basically most of them teach the same world renowened books etc but its only the professors who make all the difference. Its also the experience that you draw from your collegues that helps you. Ultimately weighing all pros and cons of online education, accredition i decided one thing is to join an MBA anyway. The MBA from Aiias is average MBa but the good thing about that is that it is available in Doha and there is regular teaching here. YOu study after your office hours and keep your commitment to family and life. So i think give it a good look before you decide on an MBA. Besides its average cost per month, easy payment schedules i think we can manage it. Even if we leave qatar we have the online MBA option or the MBA in other countries where its available. The professors who come are all PHD so there is no question about their educational qualification. Its all upto us how we make use of the opportunity life presents us. If you wish to speak to me call me on 5433692 between 10am to 5pm Areef

Qatar University is offering the MBA Programme. Next Semester would start in August and the admission process is over. The degree Fee is around QR-48,000/=. Requirements are minimum of 2.85 GPA in Graduation or else GMAT (if GPA is less then 2.85). Accreditation is not confirmed....and thats a bit of a problem.

Well, I have seen this kind of post many times on QL and the answer is YES. You can do your MBA without leaving Qatar and is also recognized by Government of INDIA under University Grants Commission(UGC).

Amity University in Lucknow (UP) offers Online MBA Program. Visit http://www.amityelearning.com for more information.

For further details you can either speak to online support team or try contacting Mr. Mannoj S Sharma.

I can't share his contact details, but if you are really serious PM me and I will forward your request to him.

BTW, I successfully completed my MBA Fast Track Program in June-2009.

The wise person has long ears and a short tongue.

ITguy,

If you find out let me know, im currently chasing the same thing and all I have found is distance learning that would assist.

You're born, you take s**t. You get out in the world, you take more s**t. You climb a little higher, you take less s**t. Till one day you're up in the rarefied atmosphere and you've forgotten what s**t even looks like. Welcome to the layer cake son.
