Beverly Hills Tower

Does anyone have information regarding the Beverly Hills Tower? From the little information I have found it looks to be a very nice residential apartment complex - but I have yet to find any information regarding rent prices, amenities or anything else. Any help would be greatly appreciated - especially if you just so happen to live there. I will be relocating to Doha in 2 weeks and be placed in corporate housing, but would like to get a jump start in apartment hunting.

Thanks

This is an old thread but I'd like to hear if there are any updates on living in Beverly Hills Towers?

Thanks

Hi any update to life style in Beverly Hills Tower ?

Now they offered me a 3 bedrooms for qar 15000.

Any problems are still undergoing there ?

The area seems pretty finished now, and maybe no more night excavators ....

I lived in BHT for 2 years.

The living room is fabulous - 35' wide, 16' high floor-ceiling, wall-to-wall windows overlooking the bay, the furnishings, grand.

The balcony is only accessible through the master bedroom, so, if I had a party, the guests would be trooping in and out through my bedroom.

The kitchen is small and there are no windows.

The bathrooms are 3rd world poor, small, no windows and it smelt because the bidet and the toliet ran down the same outlet. It took 1 year to fix this! You had to breathe a combination of methane and other gases, but you wouldn't want to spend time in there anyways. This, I guess is Arab; hamam like kelb (dog) is a dirty, filthy word.

In mid 2007, a lot right in front of my apt. was used as a dumping ground for spoil from another building project nearby. At night, the spoil was carted away to a dump site (out of town). This was done only after 10pm, because traffic eased at night. From 10pm to 5am, I could hear the hum of an excavator and dumptrucks clamping down the tipper.

I complained to the Doha municipality, the manager took it seriously. His technical bureaucrat, came up with law #84 or something that said no such entitlement to "peace and quiet". I showed him a regulation from Ashgal (Public Works Dept.) that required all works in residential neighborhoods to cease after 10pm. The bureacrat claimed that that was only an Ashgal regulation and not a law in Qatar. Whatever!

My apt. was in a high floor. My heart goes out to those on the 5th-15th.

The swimming pool in BHT is 19m. The jacuzzi is a dimly lit corner, the sauna/steam room are also pitiful.

I looked at apts. in Four Seasons - dark (typical Arabic type), poorly furnished apts cost QAR25,000/m.

Ezdan is another sad story - residents walk into this grand reception and then sneak into a tiny box where 4 elevators are located to take them to their apts. To get to some floors, you have to switch elevators (go upto one level, walk across and take another elevator).

My colleague lives in Regency. He smells all the cooking from his neighbors on the floor above him, below hima and adjacent to him. The HVAC vents are yet to be fixed, 2 years on. Other issues with the bathroom, temperature control (now fixed).

I guess relatively speaking, BHT comes on top.

In the year I was there I never experienced any of the problems listed in the comment above, and I know plenty of people still living there and loving it.

Very poorly managed property, there are problems just about with everything. The humidity is controlled, so you will have mildew all over your clothes, plus it's a serious health hazard. It's very noisy, there is construction on the 29th floor and the noise can be heard all the way down to 25th... I mean... you wouldn't be able to be inside when they are drilling and it seems like they are drilling ALL the time even on Saturdays.

The apartment wasn't PROPERLY cleaned before we moved in, and more than 5 families (our friends) have moved out. I can't wait to leave.

Property's manager is a boy who looks and has experience of about 10 year old, so do yourself a favor -- don't even move in.

Does the Beverly Hills accept pets? My company is proposing that we stay for a month in the Beverly Hills while looking at other options. I plan on buying a dog at some point but if we decide on staying in the Beverly Hills It may come down to if they allow pets.

If not, do you know of any other accomodations that allow pets?

I currently live in Beverly Hills Tower and it's not that bad. Granted it's surrounded by construction, but none of it is 24 hours. The worst noise comes from the wind (it get's very windy in this part of West Bay), followed by the generators left running on the construction sites. But the air-con drowns out all of that!

The time it takes to build a tower block means that the view doesn't "diminish by the day", but obviously over time the view will become obstructed. I live in an apartment on the north side so have a good view (taking in The Pearl, Ritz-Carlton, InterCon, Golf Club - right round to City Center from the balcony). I don't think the view is as good from the south side or the apartments on the inside (the building is shaped like a U or V).

The apartments on the outside of the U/V shape have large balconies, as can be seen when you drive past.

The nearby roads and pavements are in no worse a state than any others in Doha, and there's currently very little traffic on the roads directly round the tower.

The gym and swimming pool are now fully operational and are very good, while the jacuzzi, spa, sauna, steam room, games room and coffee bar are nearly ready. They are also planning to put a restaurant on the top floor. Also, there is 24 hour security, reception, maintenance and cleaners, a limousine service and a laundry service.

We definitely prefer it to our previous apartment in Al Sadd. Being within walking distance of The Corniche is also a big bonus.

I will be moving into the Beverly Hills Towers in February sometime! I don't have a choice, my company is giving me a two bedroom apartment there. I've driven around the building and the area is a giant construction site, but then that is the same for most of Qatar! I just hope to god the windows cut-out a lot of the noise!

Not sure how much its costing them but they probably get it cheaper as they are buying up floors instead of single places!

Oh its also a bit of a 'one-way' nightmare around the building.

I wouldn't wish Beverley Hills Tower on anyone right now - at least not until the finish building it!

Beverley Hills and the next door Regency Towers were Media Residence Towers during the Asian Games.

Bev Hills was just about finished but without many of the promised fixtures and fittings such as gym etc., but the views from the 29th floor is amazing

Regency was less finished - but did have the bonus of many rooms - or apartments - having balconies - there are no balconies in Beverley Hills.

But there is still new building going on all around those towers and the view diminishes by the day.

The pavements all subsided and collapsed after the heavy rain and in three weeks there was no attempt at any repairs.

If I was looking for accommodation I'd probably look at something that has been finished and habitable for a little longer than the brand new towers.

The noise from adjoining building work goes on non stop 24 hours and also creates a lot of dust and mess... but if you like living on a building site...

I wouldn't go back to either tower even if someone was paying me to live there.

A compound villa beats any apartment hands down. You won't believe what a difference it makes driving from the crazy streets of Doha into a quiet private compound. If you have kids, a compound is more social too.

As for Beverly Hills Tower, it one of the first apartments completed in Westbay and is surrounded by high rise construction. It will be extremely noisy and dusty for quite some time until the other towers are complete. It definitely isn't worth the prices they are asking just based on the inconveniences you will encounter by living there.

I looked again at the Gulf Times and there is a good supply of villas. You may be able to get a four bedroom villa in a nice compund for 15,000QR. Have a good look around when you get here. The supply is definately increasing and the costs have already started to fall.

Thanks for the help - 12500 does seem a little high, but given that it would be so close to my office and my company is paying for a good chunck of it - it mimght be worth it. I'm still trying to find some information regarding the size of the apartments and possibly some pictures as well. Have you by chance ever been over there? if so what was your impression?

Again - thanks for the help

12,500 is pretty high, but given that it would be so close to my office the commute might be worth it. I've searched through the Gulf-Times Classifieds but cannot seem to find any information. I've done countless google searches as well and cannot seem to find a website that talks about the building or complex.
