Is it possible to score traineeships/apprenticeships?

Hi everyone.
I'm from Australia and am considering moving to Qatar to be with my bf. He is egyptian and lives in Qatar.
I wanted to wait until i did some study, but am now looking into what study i can do in Qatar. I want to study Photography and Journalism but the Uni fees are a bit extreme. Is it possible/likely to get a traineeship/apprenticeship at a news paper do u think??
Or are there any cheaper methods of study around besides $25,000/year university courses?
I have emailed the Qatar Photographic Society regarding courses but havn't recieved a reply yet.
Any tips anyone??? I would really appreciate some advice.

Hiya Steph,

My 2 cents worth of advice - do your studies in Australia before you come here. It looks a lot better on your CV when u have a degree/qualifications from a western country.

Also, although Qatar has progressed a lot, it still doesn't have the organisation and structure as in Western Countries.

You're still young, finish your studies, then come over later.

That's my 2 cents worth!!
