Signing up for ADSL
My husband finally got his RP so we can go over to Qtel and sign up for post-paid mobile service plus the long awaited ADSL line. But, according to Maharba, we need to obtain a letter from our sponsor to sign up for the Internet service. Is this true?
Do we need a PO Box?
Plus, is it possible to sign up for the internet service without landline telephone service?
And how long does it typically take for someone to come out to your place to set up everything? (I don't even know if it's necessary)
hi will be in qatar by next week its easy to get lendline and adsl
till me what i have to do
Yes, I just signed up for ADSL myself but am still waiting (signed up on nov.27th)! The phone line was activated within a week, I have already made 3 calls to Qtel for an update. Keep getting told a technician would call me.
Also, I have tried to get PO Box at the main PO at corniche and the area I live in (Aziziya) but they have none available. I am using one at work..
Good Luck.
No, not true. Just go with your RP. Don't forget to write down Qtel and Electricity numbers from above your entrance door. You can't sign up for ADSL right away, you have to sign up for a phone line, and after it is activated you have to go to Qtel one more time to sign up for ADSL.
Takes about a week to get the phone line and about the same time to get ADSL. And yes, they DO have to come to your home. And of course you need a PO Box (mandatory). Where will you receive the bills otherwise?
