Hi,

Could you please share that how long on average a Resident Permit process takes? What are the major steps in the process? Is there any way to expedite it?

I would really appreciate the replies or comments. Thanks

i am not sure about the types of test they do on ur blood. when we go there, they will draw blook from us.

in addition to this, my PRO asked me to get the BLOOD GROUP testing report. i dont understand the logic behind that because medical commission has already taken our blood samples

You can go for Medical any day from the date of arrival

Medical is also takes a max of 30 mins to 1 hour depends.

u should go to the gate for EMPLOYEES (the back side of the Medical commission office), show ur visa copy, they will direct you to the Cash Counter there u have to pay 100 QAR as the fees.

The cashier will be taking your photo so be handsome then... lol...

then u have to go for the X-Ray, and then Blood Drawing,

its in the near by rooms, if any doubt ask the ppl in the reception.

the X-Ray and Blood Drawing is on First Come Fist Serve basis.

Once this proceedures are over, the details will be available in the CID office in four or five days. So wait for one week, then u can go to CID office directly

The current finger print procedure for Professional visas (Engineer, Doctor, Manager, etc...) are very simple.

You need not even go with your company PRO, you can directly go to the CID office. I advise you to go there in the early morning. I could complete my finger print procedure in 10 minutes time.

I Reached there at 6.55 am, and i came out after all proceedures at 7.05 am. Now its fully electronic, so its fast, and neat also.

Better you should go with ur driver, its very difficult to get a taxi from that location.

They told that the information will be available in the Immigration dept. in one week time. So i am waiting for that.

You know some people will prefer the final stages

The first step is to have a medical which involves the taking of a blood sample and a chest x-ray. Thats all I've done so far so but I've been told the next step is fingerprinting. There's a rumour that the final stages involve a latex glove! I think I might leave before then ...
