what you said is true, you would be at their mercy, what if they change their minds and want you to do odd jobs, bcos you are on their sponsorship, its a huge risk and not worth it. and yes they charge money, anything more than 5000qrs, so its not worth it at all.its risky, very risky esp for a woman.i wouldnt suggest it at all, i would still advise getting a job independantly and coming on her own company sponsorship.its safer and many women are coming into doha these days on work visas, this was unheard of a few years ago, companies would not sponsor ladies easily, they had to be on their father/husband visa, only certain establishments could get women the visas.

It still sounds suss to me. A person here has recomended a friend of a friend to sponsor, but at a cost.

Wihtout meeting them, knowing them etc.

I certainly would not entertain this idea if I was coming to a foreign country looking for work.

You will then be at the mercy of a complete stranger.

as long as the qatari has no objection getting the visa, no problem, but then he should give his release if she wants to work elsewhere and change her sponsorship. what visa will he get for her???????????if he is nice, then no problems, it all depends upon the understanding you have with the sponsor, it should not be a situation where you are neither here nor there.

i know of people who have their relatives here, but no direct relation, some qatari has gotten the sponsorship for them, and they renew the visa, but you pay for it, the condition usually is that you should not be working anywhere and you are here just for the family.. many qataris help that way.

I suggest that I option is to buy visa here in Qatar my friend know a Qatari who can sponsor your gilfriend and then look for a job here. If you really want to visit here together. That's the easiest way to be here.

I question your future employer's credibility. It is common knowledge here that unmarried couples can not legally live together and to just advise you of that now is unprofessional ... just my opinion.

Anyway, it's not to say it doesn't happen, but generally that is because both individuals have their own sponsorship and know what they are doing is illegal, but are responsible about it ... not drawing unessesary attention.

I would not rely on the 21/28 day visa route. That becomes very expensive. OK for the short term.

What is your partner's qualifications? Perhaps she can start doing some homewok now seeing what is available.

Good Luck

I have met women who have come here on a 21 day tourist visa and do a 'visa run' every 3 weeks. As long as you leave the country by 21 days, when you return the 21 days starts again. They usually go to Dubai for a night. She could then look for a job here and still be with you, and then get her new employer to sponser her. Although I am told that most employers prefer family sponsership for women?

if u are not married then you cannot come on family visa, qatar has not become so relaxed that they will let your live in partner to come here on marital status basis.

what your partner could do is try to get a job independantly here so she comes here on her company visa and not associated with your visa.it seems a bit easy now for women to come here on their company sponsorship, and many women have come here.

i cant think of any other way............the most obvious way would be for you to marry, but you may already have discussed that issue and made your decisions regarding it, so i wont comment on that subject, its your personal issue................., maybe someone else could give their pointers too.......
