Where NOT To Eat

Fakhreldine Lebanese Restaurant, Ramada traffic lights next to Little Caesars Pizza and Chili's.

Horrible, terrible, unpalatable, poor quality.  Lebanese?  Pah!

Avoid!

What are your eateries to avoid?

Is a nice place to try. Especially if the weather is nice, you can eat outside and look out over the corniche. I have also seen the hubbly bubbly's set up aswell.

I have taken visitors here and all have enjoyed. Quite reasonably priced considering you are eating waterfront.

Considering the fact that pigeons eat trash, I don't think I'll be trying that dish anytime soon.

Nic and I ate at Mint one time. I like the restaurants decor. It was nice to sit in a sofa for dinner. I didn't like the food. I don't remember the prices there whether they were high or not. They had a great hummus but when I asked for bread they looked at me like i was crazy. He brought me some garlic bread. All in all, I think I would give it another chance. It was when it first opened so maybe its improved. I'd walk a mile to eat the hummus again :)

I have received mixed reviews on Mint, it's suppose to be a pricy place, but I am not sure if it's worth it or not.

I have heard they have a salmon pasta dish or was it Salmon and Pasta dish, that is suppose to be good so my husband and I will be trying it out soon. We'll tell you how our experience went.

Anybody else know a good restaurant that serves well made Salmon?

I'll check it out tonight. Failing that, I'll have to revisit the Ramadan tent in the Ramada. Not the best coffee there, but the atmos ain't a train wreck.

Tendai, in IMHO the best place to enjoy a sheesha is on the balcony at the coffee house situated in the middle of the new old souks by the Emiri Diwan. It's outside, atmospheric and cheap - good sheesha for only 8 Riyals!

Anybody eaten at Mint on Salwa road lately? I've been pretty curios about that place since I saw it on my way to trying out that Diet place on the same street. I was curious about whether they saw the irony in having a diet food place open during Ramadan.

Also, even though I don't smoke ciggies... I've taken a liking to shisha and coffee (Grand Joud - very bad people :-) ) Anybody know another place where I can indulge my new found vice?

I hope I spelt that right - this place is across the road from Little Caesars, directly opposite Hardy's. Not the most aesthetically pleasing joint I've ever eaten in, but their mixed grill was pretty special. Go in blind folded and you'll love the experience. Prices are keen to.. clearly their not trying to punch above their weight. I noticed the 'pigeon' on the menu and had a chuckle.

Thank you for the warning ... me and hubby always on and on about trying out that place. I guess if you said is bad means it is bad. lol.

I agree e46. I think that Little Caesars is terrible. Awful. They also were shut down for a health code violation. Ponderosa yuck. Pizza Inn yuck. I'd kill to have Dominos or Papa Johns here. KFC worries me because of all the grease.

Im still surprised the place hasn't been shut down already. How do they profit cuz it seems no one has anything nice to say about the place!
