Just a normal function you would find in most cyber forums. Putting certain members name who you do not wish to read would be more civilized way than calling people names in the public forum.
Ignore list indeed!!!! Do you want your food mashed up before its served to you aswell? If you dont like someone just skip their post... is that too much of a task for you. No one is sending u stuff directly, its posted on a board, its your choice to read it or not.

i think there are a Moderator for this forum, he will help for this stuff
