Hi all,

I will be shifting to Doha next month as an Assitant Manager in a Big 4 accounting firm. I am getting QR13,500 per month. I would like to know what would be the rental of a 1 bed room furnished flat (some where near the commercial center) and also what would a car like Honda Civic cost (EMI, maintenance, annual insurance etc.)

Thanks.

That's life in Doha. You are asking the converted.

I was in charge of QP compensation and now have a flat head from banging it against a brick wall.

Just look at the way that house rentals are going and how much reaction there has been from the companies.

3-5% annual increase in salary seems unrealistic, as the inflation rate itself is around 9% per year!! What do we have to say for that.

What!!!

Only 3-5% annual increment, my god. Is that a regular jump across all industries in doha? BAck in india its almost 25 to 30% annually.

Don't even think of 15% or 25%.

Qatar petroleum work (I think it still applies) on an overall average of 3% (maximum 5% minimum 0%).

General increases.....only when essential.

Any idea, what is the annual increase in salary (in percentage)in Doha. For example 15% or 25%.
