Can one get Indonesian Teak Furniture in Qatar and if so are they prohibitively expensive? Would appreciate any comments.

I think i read somewhere that many countries (like india) have banned the export of teak. You may get some teak veneered furniture but to be honest, it may be difficult to get solid teak.

Alaikumsalam Um Sumaya. Yes they are cheap in Indonesia. Lived there (Bandung which is 4 hrs drive away from Jakarta) for 2 1/2 yrs. I have a houseful now. Just wondered if I should sell up and start up or bring everything with us depending on which is the cheaper option.

Don't know about in Qatar, but have you looked into getting say a shipment from Indonesia? To buy locally there is very very cheap - don't know how much shipping would be, but sometimes its worthwhile.
