Strike on Syria - Is Qatar safe?

Jack_The_Ripper
By Jack_The_Ripper

It has been a known fact that Qatar and KSA played prominent roles in supporting the rebels of Syria. Right now, Syria is about to get it from the U.S and Bashar Al-Assad, Hizbullah, Iran are backed up by Russia.

I see more threat to Qatar and KSA than Israel because if he is going down, he might wanna make many others go down.

What do you guys think? Is it safe? Is it advised to leave Qatar during that strike at least?

thx

They had already decided to attack Syria... even before the chemical attack...

...thats why they pulled out the Embassy Staff...

I wonder if they will attack Saudi also on some pretext or another...

Bashar AlAsad said If he was hit by USA, he will hit back Jordan and Turkey and maybe Israel

He didn't mention Qatar

Relax guys

I think Saudi is more likely target than Qatar because of many reasons such as geographical closeness and direct contradiction of interests. But it will be stupid to think that there won't be a proxy war against countries like Qatar and Turkey in long run. As someone rightly said suicidal attacks and hijackings are more likely strategies of revenge.

Only those leaders earn respect in the history who support the righteousness no matter what the consequences come. As Muslims we believe we have to answer for our responsibilities on the Day of Judgment.

But not one that can be answered with any surety as of now. All we can do is hope for the best.. And be prepared for any trials that can come our way as an outcome of the event that may indeed cause much changes and turbulences the world over!

they won't hit the nuclear weapons storage. everything has been discussed, planned and agreed upon... which areas to hit and which not to hit... no worries, everything is properly orchestrated and is under full control of all parties.

He is just another dictator. However, dictators only become dictators if their throne is threatened to be taken away from them and their kids. (UK, All Gulf states, Most middle eastern countries, etc)

I personally believe in non-hereditary titles, but who am I anyway to judge!

I think Assad was harmless or at least less harmful than Iran president for instance, but U.S & Israel use an effective strategy in this region. (Make neighboring countries enemies & conduct business with them) - Arabs/Muslims are not very smart to unite because if they do, most Americans will be riding tricycles to work.

The question in my mind now is... Will Qatar and the rest of the world be safer with Bashar al-Assad?

Chemical weapons need priming, but more importantly, they require delivery systems. In Syria, Bashar or the Rebels can use artillery or tank shells. They won't get anywhere near Qatar with those..

Paranoid? that whole play deserves some sense of urgency. I am sorry but a place like Qatar would never warn its residents about an incoming danger. Their media is built this way.

we are talking about a man that used chemical weapons on his OWN people that has so much hate towards KSA & Qatar.

Why would Bashar try and hit a country so far away, when he has Lebanon and Saudi as easier targets.

There seems to be a lot of paranoia and scaremongering here :O)

wow, someone's being paranoid. of course there's nothing you can do if a bomb drops right in front of you but you can try to find out some information to put your mind at ease just a bit.

contact your embassy and know the contingency and evacuation plans they have in place if something bad does happen. check with your employer too if these things are part of their disaster recovery plans. if they don't have them, take the initiative to make one. at least your paranoia could be used for something productive. i heard from our office oldies that they had some plans in place if saddam hussein had been successful in invading kuwait and decided to go further south more than 20 years ago.

Brit, you do understand that a small city like Qatar can get really impacted even with one missile that escapes a radar!.. you are talking about a city that has the majority of its tall buildings in like a 1 km radius.

I am not being negative, but if you think like Bashar for a second, would you try to fire at another super-power like Israel, that has never had any effort in bringing him down? Or a small Arabic country, that made him lose his legacy, that will barely take any effort to go back 100 years just to mark history?

What if all expats in Qatar just leave?

I truly hope that no harm will hit Qatar because I support their political decisions especially in regards that war,

You don't need to be worried about Syrian military but more by individual suicide bombers who could hit malls or shawma shops.

What is there to be scared of ? USA will carry out a surgical strike.

Qatar has the main US base in the region and pretty good internal security.

Just chill and enjoy life.

Why are you so scared? Don't you have life insurance? :))

Just kidding mate.

In my opinion, if there is intervention and if they hit the nuclear weapons storage, it is going to be another historic catastrophe by our world police. There are chances that Assad himself will blew it and blame on US. If this happens Iran and Russia will respond to it and of course the escalation will take the whole region.
