Marriage, Some fun & then a quick divorce

A man has been accused of forcibly marrying an orphan in India and has been charged with child marriage and sexual offences, local media have reported.

Eight others, including the RAK man’s mother, also have been charged in relation to the marriage, which the 17-year-old Kerala girl says she was forced into by orphanage authorities on June 13.

She alleges her husband sexually exploited her before secretly leaving the country two weeks later. He phoned her on August 6 to declare he had divorced her, she said.

The underage marriage has sparked fury in Kerala and demands for the girl’s orphanage to be shutdown.

Women activists, political leaders and NGOs in Kerala have called for an amendment to legislation that allows Muslim girls to be married at the age of 16, which locals say encourages Arab men to marry young Indian Muslim girls, according to First Post India.

Glad to know the man has been charged, and ditto his mother. Hope they are made an example of so other pervs can think twice before they follow suit.

As for the orphanage authorities, then they are by far great oppresses and criminals as well. Would they have done like so to their own daughters? No way! Such a disgusting bunch.

Neither was the marriage acceptable as per Islamic law, given the girl was forced, and neither was the divorce. One cannot just call up their wife and proclaim "Talaq" like many of these ignoramuses do. There are procedures involved including giving time for reconciliation and counselling.

And hope proper laws are put into place disallowing such evil hereafter

The culprit is the mother of the RAK man who is a keralite woman.

As long as the Muslim law allow them to divorce by just saying a word three times..such things will happen and no one can intervene... in this case the girl is underage.. if not nobody will know..

This guy's FB page was shown on channels...a young guy must be in his early 30's..its obvious that this is his hobby...his holiday pics in Europe and other places with different girls are posted there..probably it was easier to marry from an orphanage than to get a pros.. for two weeks..

Hmmm... .too bad they dont mention the age of a guy. Well.. .first of all nobody should be forced to get married... secondly ... 17 is not exactly underaged... there are many countries where legal age is below 17... so it is a bit of debatful... the guy is a bad person but not exactly a criminal... in fact there are lots of people in india who get married at the age of 12, 13, 14, etc... same thing in Africa... now that's definitely wrong !! Like i said a person who be old enough to decide for himself or herself if she wants to get married.

Do a local authority rep. stays or keeps an eye on everyones home 24x7? We cannot keep on passing on our misdeeds/ misjudgements when at the receiving end onto Govt or authorities.

I'm surprised nothing has been done about this before, it has been well known that some Arab men have been using this loophole for underage sex.
