How to Transfer my family Visa to new Passport
Dear Friends,
Greetings!
Recently i was told at Indian Passport office at India is that spouse name must be endorsed in Parents Passports in order to obtain passport for infant.
unfortunately my wife passport does not have spouse name endorsed. Hence the new passport application was rejected for my infant even though i have provided a sworn affidavit from Indian Embassy from Qatar.
Now i have left with only option to endorse spouse name in my wife passport. However this will we be a reissue of new passport as per the rule. currently my family passport is having a Valid Qatar RP .
Now what all i want to know is do i need to Transfer my Family Visa to Newly issued passport before arriving to Doha or it is not required as it can be done upon arrival to Doha.
Please help me to clear the issue.
Thanks.
Uvaraj.
Is it mandatory to change Visa from old passport to new passport?
Hello All,
Big relief n feeling good- family arrived to Doha
no issue of RP in old passport however i need to transfer RP to New Passport asap.
also you need to have spouse name on Parents passport in order to get passport for Infant.
Thank You all for your advice and response.
How long your hubby has worked in Qatar is irrelevant. Yes one of you must carry the spouse name on the passport in addition to the attested Marriage Certificate. The endorsement must be done in India only. You cannot do it in Qatar. Please keep a firm note of this. You must prove to the immigration officers in Qatar that you are married and must be validated in India only.
Hi Sashik, if you applied for a passport after your marriage why didnt you add your spouse name? I dont understand why your hubby decided to endorse it. To do any endoresement you still need to go to the passport office and you will loose another two weeks minimum depending on which state you are in. I know the exact procedures in Tamilnadu. This could have solved a lot of problems.
Hello Dan... i have taken my passport after my marriage but my husband asked me to take the passport with single and he told he will do endorsement. He is working in qatar for nearly 2 years and 5 months he holds residence visa there. But tell me from the above statement of raja i understand either of us can have the spouse name in the passport. I didnt include his name in my passport yet but where he will be endorsing my name in his passsport in india or in Qatar state. We have our marriage certificate which is got registered and attested in india. Pls clarify.
If all the documents are in proper order duely attested, you can secure a family visa in a week depending on the reviewing immigration officer.
However, attestation itself can take a minimum 45 days to 6 months in India. Government offices in India can take their own sweet time to attest certificates. You need to dedicate a lof or your time in India to follow up. It took two months for me to get all my Certificates attested (from India) for family visa in spite of follow up on a daily basis.
If you have kids please get the Birth Certificates of your children attested also. Make sure you have the immunization chart ready for your children before entering Qatar. You will require this for school admissions.
Please remember 6 months bank statements are not always mandatory. If the PRO of your company had good relations with the Immigration officers he can assist in getting a visa with just three months statement. I am proof for this. Sometimes immigration offices can ask for attested tenancy agreement too. It all depends on the mood of the person reviewing your documents.
All documents as listed by Raja must be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the respective State. After attestation from the State, it must be attested by the Ministry of External Affairs at Delhi followed by attestation by Qatar Embassy at Delhi.
After completing the attestation in India you can enter Qatar. Before applying for RP these certificates must be attested by the Qatar Embassy in Doha for family visa.
The process is very simple but it requires a lot of running around.
Pl prepare following documents to obtain Family VISA,
1. Degree or Diploma certificate attested from India/Qatar
2. Marriage Certificate attested from India/Qatar
3. NOC / Salary Certificate from company.
4. Six months bank statement.
5. House agreement in Qatar.
6. Either of your Passport should have spouse name.
7. both of your passport copy and sponsor ( Husband ) RP copy.
once the above documents are ready then he can apply for Visit Visa for six months and later it can be converted to Family VISA from here.
Also tell him to check with his company Immigration department for further information.
I think engineering degree ( 4 year ) or polytechnic diploma ( 3 year ) should be fine to get a Family VISA.
in addition final degree or Diploma certificate and Marriage certificate has to be attested from India is required you may find more information for attestation in Qatarliving itself.
Diploma in mechanical must be a Three year diploma from the State board. I think that should be fine. couple of my friends are diploma holders only and they are having family here. However it is up to his company also as they have to provide NOC certificate.
Can anyone help me to understand that to take residence or family visa in qatar the sponsor should submit the Engineering Certificate attested to get the visa or any degree or diploma certificate attested would be fine to get the residence or family visa. My husband finished his diploma in mechanical and currently working in a shipping company as a ship repair manager. i need a clarification on a urgent basis.... Pls help and let me know whats the duration time to get the family residence visa.
Okay but Actually..here itself you can get more response from multiple users as the VISA procedures are changes some time hence latest update you may get it from here only.
Thanks.
Some cities still add spouse name only in hand written format with a government seal which can be very quick and still valid.
If there is any doubt plese send me a message and I will try to clarify to tbe best of my knowledge.
Good luck friends.
However, this depends on the city where it is renewed and how old the passport is. Recently India has shifted to digital system where all the text is printed as against hand written earlier. All documents are scanned instead of retaining hard copies and photos are taken at the time of application. In order to regularise this digital system, the government ensures that passports are renewed when an individual approaches the passport office for any issue.
Gentlemen,
There is nothing to worry as fas as this issue goes. I had similar problem before I came to Qatar.
Please note that any existing visa in your passport is valid till the visa itself expires.
You can always add your spouse name (him or her) since this is mandatory for any visa procedure irrespective of having an attested Marriage Certificate. As per the new Indian regulations, passports are renewed while adding spouse' name.
Thanks uvaraja sir... Are you from India... I need some more clarifications on this visa process about qatar can i write to your gmail id. Will i get a response from you. I do not want to use this common public forum and disclose the issues which we facing now. can you help me on that pls...
Either of your passport should have spouse name in order to apply Family Visa.
Certainly it is recommended to have spouse name in both of your Passports. In my case i am suffering because of spouse name issue I unable obtain passport for my infant.
Thanks buddy!
Thanks buddy!
I got married recently on april and my husband works in qatar.I want to understand the process of getting resident or family visa is that mandatory that in our both of the passports we have to endorse our name each other or only my huband can endorse my name in his passport to get the family visa in qatar.Pls suggest its bit confusion in that.
just show the new passport at the airport immigration counter, they will put the entry stamp in the new passport, then go to immigration dept to stamp the RP.
Your wife can enter in Qatar with her old passport (though cancelled) Keep both the passports together stapled. After entering in Qatar, you can transfer the RP to the new passport. N problem in this at all
