THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL at MIA

In honor of Qatar UK 2013, Doha Film Institute in cooperation with the British Council and the QMA are bringing the best of British cinema to Doha throughout the year. This weekend, it's The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel!

Several pensioners leave the familiar comforts of England for Jaipur, India, intending to bask in the wonders of exotic retirement at a luxurious resort for the elderly and the beautiful, run by a young Indian entrepreneur. Their amusing difficulties with adjusting to their new surroundings – which they quickly discover are not exactly as advertised – gives way to a heartwarming study of the joy and distress that come with aging. One of the most charming films of recent memory, ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’ is driven by an ensemble cast of the finest of British performers – among them Maggie Smith, Judi Dench, Tom Wilkinson and Bill Nighy.

The film screens in the Museum of Islamic Art auditorium tonight (Thursday) at at 7pm and tomorrow (Friday) 4pm and 7pm. Tickets are available upon arrival.
