Medical Insurance
Hi,
So my company sent all their employees an email asking us if we wanted Medical Insurance. This caught me by surprise as I thought it was a given that we would want it, until I kept reading and saw that the employees had to pay 60% of it. Is this normal? My contract states that "I will be submitted under the companies medical arrangements", I was stupid to not think too much about it I guess.
Anyway, my question is if its worth having one? I am 24 years old and healthy, and will be working as a site engineer. Plus it doesn't cover me when I am in Europe (which is where I travel to most often when I can get some time off).
Is this usually a one time payment? or is it on a yearly basis? I know I should have asked all this at work, but I only read it last minute and the members of the HR department had left by then.
What if I dont get it and fall ill and have to go for a consultation? Nothing too serious, maybe a high fever or a bad cold. Are the doctors' prices exorbitant?
that is normal and besides, medical insurance is only valid if you are here in doha.
