Election terms

Rip Cord

In the US a president can only serve two terms of 4 years each, in Russia it is the same until Putin cheated the system, it is also the same for Iran. However the big difference is in Russia and the US the president holds the power but in Iran the religious clerics hold absolute power. Why no set terms or elections for the ayatollah and the the other 11 religious clerics?

TOday Iran... tomorrow North Korea.. whose next... Syria.. arab aountries... china .. this madness would never end.. so i think everyone should keep a cool head on the international arena and stop playing with people lives and livelyhoods... and worry about global issues as opposed to how to dominate certain territory and resource... or how to i get ahead of others.. how do i keep them under control... this is divide and rule business... as old as human history is

If we dont grow up as a civilization... as a human race.. we will suffer... and not the people who actually create "hot air". but the ordinary people who get influenced by them.

Anyone who lived through a war knows.. in war there is no winners.. everyone is a looser... the tears of a mother are the same.. the sadness of wife and children is the same. everyonen wants to live and take care of their loved ones... the problem is some people crave power.. and they are willing to sacrifice lives to get to it... for them any means justify the ends... and then there are dumb people who dont understand that this is all "wash".. and there is no enemy.. people are their own enemies.. it is in our head

True LLR... there is a lot of hypocrisy going on these days... amazing how some people take the "fast food" news and then swollow it without even chewing and seing what they are eating.

Again I am not supporting anyone... or against anyone.. what irritates me most is how people love to simplify everything and look at it as black and white... how people point other people houses dirty when there own house is overflowing with crap... and the worst part when they start promoting nationalistic, religous, secretarian division to drive other people crazy.. and do stupid inhumane things.

Yes minaisi it applies to US, Israel, UN, ICC as well..

Some are national hypocrite and some are international.

In my opinion, be it cleric, democrat or republican, the one who rules must not be corrupt, selfish or hypocritic. Then any system is ok.

This was West propaganda "The list of candidates who can stand has to be approved by the Religious Council". Nope..absolutely not...The list of candidates have to be approved by their election constitution...however historically the worst ever was the Western Colonial Era which still US and Israel has much of it.

Being a leader of the official Socialist and Radical Left Party François Hollande's Foreign policies are shameful.

After taking 5hit sometime people forget their own arses and would like to wash others cuz they like their 5hit.

This is a classic example of how slowly the emotions of the people are flared up by the interested parties.

Example - Al Qaida was created by CIA to puss off Russians

Meantime... ordinary American people are deprived of basic things... health insurance, spcial benefits... teir houses are being reposessed... even though their banks got bailed... Americans will be paying for decades to reduce the debts racked up by their defense industry...

it is madness in its pure form.. it is a roberry of ordinary American people

I dont understand this US paranoia around Iran, North Korea, Iraq, Russia, etc.. The media is obsessed poisoning people's minds.. they are just people like us.. they may have leaders with drawbacks... but tell me which country does not have a leader with drawbacks... tell me... who gives a damn about Burkinafaso or Papoo New Guinea.... or Zimbabve... nobody... because geopolitcally they are not targeted by US ... at least not yet... US does not care about democracy.. it only cares about geopolitics... influence... contracts for its capitalistic corporations... they will dump an ally if they can make a dime on it.. something that happened in the past.

It is partially inaccurate... Iranian president does have powers.. but he needs to manager broader stakeholders...

But it is the same everywhere... everywhere there are stalholders president need to manage... even US president has to manager large corporate stakeholders staying in shade and contributing to election campaign of both parties so that regardless who wins.. they have the influence.

YOu think if US was truly independent they would go to Iraq and waste so many lives... and trillions of dollars ?

So let's get real... it aint perfect anywhere in the world... even where people are being told a ferrytale.. people just like ferrytales.

For Iran it is the dishonesty I do not like. They pretend that an election of a President matters but that person has no power and even the list of candidates who can stand has to be approved by the Religious Council.

The Iranian people know it is a sham and when they protest they get beaten and killed.

Why are you picking one country... there are many countries where religion is mixed with politics ? You dont have to go far for it...

I am not saying Iran got it right... but I am saying enough of outcasting of any specific country and applying double standards..... there are plenty of other examples.... .instead live and let live... and hopefully people will evolve their system to whatever is right for them... and btw... what is good for you... does not mean necessarily good for other person..

Iran just another religous state (non-secular)... but what country targeting means is that it radicalizes people... is a form of racism... in the end ordinary people suffer...

What is the point of your post... hower great US is ? If so you aint fooling anyone. When it comes to politics and social securities it sucks.

Just one exmaple is enough: The Iraqi war started by Americans was based on made up intel.... it was made up to make Bush's buddies rich.... and guess what... even after people knew... they still re-elected the guy... whose IQ is very questionable btw

Dont get me started on the whole nuclear issue... Chineese have a good proverb...."dont throw stones at neighbour if you own house is made of glass".. it is about time US learns that. The whole election and so called democracy in US is farce.

Since these men are deemed supreme and above the average human being by their followers, the laws that apply to the laymen of their nation are not always ascribed to them.
