15-yr-old tourist vandalizes ancient Egyptian carving
A tourist named Ding Jinhao allegedly carved seven Chinese characters into the carved artwork in Egypt's Luxor Temple, built in 1400.
No, it's not an undiscovered hieroglyph -- according to the BBC, a tourist recently left his mark on an Egyptian temple, scrawling "Ding Jinhao was here."
The characters "Ding Jinhao Dao Ci Yi You," — Ding Jinhao was here — were spotted on the ancient wall carving inside the popular tourist attraction 675km south of Cairo.
The mother said her son vandalized the image when he was a lot younger while they were traveling in Egypt. They had seen many similar examples of graffiti before and the child was just copying what he saw.
Fortunate for the temple, the damage was not permanent.
Most of the Places in LOS :)
Apologizing in a local newspaper Saturday, the teen's parents said their son understands what he has done.
Egyptian restoration experts evaluated the superficial marks on the 3,500 year-old panel and successfully removed them earlier this week.
Lucky Luciano you seem to have tried all the exotic destinations in Thailand...lol
Khanan - let me know if you find any new destination in Thailand for Exotic gateways
Looks like the letters there in chinese add to the attraction of the treasures in Egypt. Its like ancient art meeting modern arts for a new world of tourism fusion. Now they will have more tourists visitng there from the chinese mainland. The Egyptians must be happy with all the free publicity that they got from this incredible story
