When will authorities clamp down and protect the vulnerable.

May they rest in peace!

The driver should be caught and made an example of.

At least 17 children and a female teacher have been burned to death after a faulty gas cylinder exploded on a bus taking them to school in eastern Pakistan.

Seven other youngsters were also injured in the blast on the outskirts of the city of Gujrat. Five of them were in serious condition in hospital.

Twenty-four children, aged between five and 15, were being taken to a private school when the vehicle caught fire, local police chief Dar Ali Khattak told AFP.

The blaze was apparently caused by a spark when the driver of the dual-fuel van switched from gas to petrol, he added.

The driver survived the explosion 120 miles southeast of the capital Islamabad, by fleeing the fire.

Ainy zarar: Well if you look at my suggestion "objectively" India is doing very well and soon to be one of the biggest superpowers," if they manage to beat down China and that I very much doubt".

Pakistan on the other hand is not doing so well "more like free falling into more political, religious and economic chaos" and just sinking further and further into it's own sectarian, tribal and what not conflicts.

now the choice is yours to make do you wanna go up with India or do you wanna continue down spiraling.

Happens quite often but most people refuse to learn.

Just to save few bucks lives are put at risk and seeing such attitude coming from schools, pathetic to say the least.

This is pure greed, I know how people install cheap cooking gas cylinder kits in big vehicles to save on petrol or diesel cost. This always doubles the risk because the vehicles need a modification to be done in its original fuel injection system by unprofessional mechanics. The school authorities must never allow such buses to ferry children in them.

perhaps it's time for Pakistan to seriously consider reuniting with India.

NM ... Yes i know, No one cares ~

but I think this is what they are looking for now , someone to blame

the important thing now , there should be an action to avoid having the same kind of accidents.

Blame does not change anything. Action does. Alas......

And what was the explanation this time? whom they blamed ?

The bus

The driver

The kids

These types of accidents are all too common. Innocent lives lost because of lack of maintenance and greed.

Such an Irresponsible action

How come they don't check the bus periodically, I don't think these kind of things happens at once.

I feel so sorry for the children and may Allah give patience to their families.

There could be nothing more dreadful than innocent angel like children dying in fire. Each and everyone responsible must be dealt with severely. If only I did not come to know about it for I know it will keep playing in the back of my head for days to come. Imagine the agony of the helpless children breathing their last in severe pain. My Allah make them forget their pain for ever.

A terrifying tragedy, and every parent who has to resort to public transport's worst nightmare. Was the driver aware of the fault in the cylinders and still chose to drive the vehicle? If so he certainly must be penalized.
