Labor Low

Good afternoon. I’m working for a Trading Company in a management position and I was not paid for the last 4 month.
Plus all the terms and condition from my contract are not respected by the company because they supposed to offer me an accommodation or housing allowance and they are not doing. Also they are not paying me the salary which it is stipulated in the contract. After one month since I sign the contract and all my sponsorship papers was finished they told me that my real salary will be with 20 % less.
I will appreciate if someone can help me or give me an advice regarding my situation.
Anyone know what the labor low say in this situation?

I would say you better get cracking and get to the labor office and lodge a complaint before your sponsor decides to send your passport to the CID and lodge a bogus complaint against you. Yes this is one of the ways these shady sponsors use to get out of their responsibilities. Lodge a complaint before he does or you have lost.

Companies and organizations out here use and twist the laws and rules to their own benefit. I remember a logistics company who could not find any justifiable or valid reason to remove a colleague and ultimately they came up with something called recession to get the guy out

This is an exploitation, i suggest you to go to labor court and file a complain. But, be sure that you have all signed papers and documents in your favour.

I hope you can get all your due wages and get release from your company to search another employer.

Best of luck.

Bro, Go and lodge a complaint.

First talk to the management and inform them that you need the salary as mentioned in your contract.

If they mess around, collect all proof that you have been working in their office for the past 4 months and that you have been coming on time and respecting all the terms laid down by the company.

Go to the police or the Ministry of Labour with copies of all related document. Or better yet, approach a local lawyer.

If you win the case, the company has to pay you the entire compensation and that includes the legal fees too.

The police/MoL/Lawyer will help you sort it out. All the best. God bless.

Part 6 (Wages), Article 66 of Qatar Labour Law states that:

"The wages of the workers employed on an annual or monthly wages shall be paid at least once in every month."

"The employer shall not be releaved from his obligation to pay the wage due to the worker".

Article 146 states;

"Whoever refuses to implement (these above laws) shall be punished with a fine of not less than five thousand Riyals and not more than ten thousand Riyals."

Like all laws in Qatar, what the law says and what the law does as far as enforcement goes, are usually two very different things. You should complain to the authorities otherwise this problem will get worse

The reason why tyrants stay for long is because we followed them for too long.

You should have gone to the labor office to complain and I do believe that it will be acted upon.

The reason why we lose is because we accept that we are losers. You are what you are through the choice you make alone.

In this world, we have all the choices.

Don't lose hope, it not the end of the road yet but, make sure to complain, otherwise nothing will happen.

Good Luck
