Job seekers can soon be able to check firms’ status online and assess reputation of the company before boarding the flight to Doha, thanks to the Ministry of Labor's latest initiative.
According to a report in the The Peninsula, companies are classified into three categories – A, B and C. Companies in the C-grade are infamous for selling work visas and have no jobs to offer, while B-grade companies are the ones that have been accused of violating some provisions of the Ministry of Labor. A-grade companies are the recommended ones and are classified as better paymasters.

True that The Surprised. Ditto.
So a missing document means the company is B-graded... And when document presented it is A-graded.

"......owners send behind bars"???? but there are no bars in doha!!!
For all the coments above I would like to share my experiance about A.B.C grades given by Labor department .
A . No complaint at all .
B. . One or two complaints from Ministry of Labor only and not from the staff working with Companies .
C. Many complaints from MOL and the staff working for that company ..
Recived sms on mobile from MOL to check status about my company and branches . Status was that two of my Companies are A grade and two of them B . Was surprised as we never have any problem with any of our staff nor with MOL . After having checked with MOL about the complaints It was disclosed that we have not submited the Afidavit for salaries . Luckily I had the copies of those letters with me as we submited on same days two were enter in the system and two were not . So after showing them copies imediatly it was entered in the MOL system and all of my Four companies were give A grade . :-)
lol...that almost sums up how useful such information would be...:)
What about the companies that did not make it to this list and no one reported them, not because they are good but because no one dared or cared to report ?? I am sure atleast 75% of companies will come under this category.
And why can they list only the authentic companies on the website? Instead of listing the notorious ones as well...
Exactly! Wonder why they even mentioned of the visa traders and gave them a classification too!

Cannot access the Peninsula. However, based on what you have stated .."Companies in the C-grade are infamous for selling work visas and have no jobs to offer"...should these companies even make it to the list. Shouldn't they be closed down for good and if selling visa's is illegal the owners send behind bars.
