Hi, I'm Wayne
I am currently a serving British soldier in the combat field. Soon i will have termination from my career in the Army.
I am looking for a reasonable job focusing around the security/military sector in Qatar
My reason for choosing Qatar is because it is a country that i travel alot too as my fiancee is a teacher at an international school over their and i think it would be a great place to start a fresh/new career.
I dont really have a clue where to start looking so any help would be extremely appreciated. Thankyou!

Thanks guys.. I like your idea about being a teacher, but i have honestly never taught a single lesson in my life! Thankyou anyway. Your help is appreciated, I have came up with a few idea's of my own also to try to get around different industries, I understand it can be very hard as i also see when i'm visiting a lot of foreign nationals doing a lot of the work.

I have my fingers crossed and i'm pretty sure with a little determination and staying focused i should be able break into this somehow.

Thanks again guys and if you guys DO come up with anymore idea's i'll be more then happy to hear them :)

Teachers here get paid well, so better be an English teacher just like your fiancee. And when you are a teacher, it's for good. You can still be a teacher even if you reach the age 50's. :) That's a fresh start.

I dont know much about this field but what I know is that it is probably going to be hard to find a job in military and they hire nationals. A more realistic option for you would be working for a security company but then a lot of them get cheap labour from other countries... If you are native speaker you can teach English as your fiancee does... alternatively look for on-line postings and look on-line for security firms... but again.. it is going to be very hard.

It is normal in Qatar to advertise your qualification and inform people that you are looking for a job.

Tell your GF to advertise your interest for a specific job at the Gulf Times. A company who needs your qualification will get in touch with you.

Ad cost QR 60/day. Not much of an investment considering that it Gulf Times is a widely read English Newspaper in Qatar and has circulation in other parts of the Gulf State as well.

You can also start Googling on the SECURITY company that you would like to try your luck,

Good Luck to your future job search.
