Is a Clinical Assistant also a nurse?

I am a 20-year-old registered nurse in the Philippines who graduated and passed our board exam last year. I have no working experience yet but I am scheduled to take the prometric exam (General Scope Nurse) on April 11. My dad (who is living/working in Qatar) presented my scanned documents to a clinic in Qatar and the director was impressed. He offered me a work as a Clinical Assistant with an 'allowance' of 3k. Will that work count as nursing work experience and will enable me to apply for medical license as a nurse in Qatar after 2 years? (I want to be hired as a nurse in HMC so I am wondering if that work will actually be counted by HMC as a nursing work experience) or will it be better if I will just be a Nurse Trainee in my country for 2 years? If the certificates say Nurse Trainee (not volunteer nurse), will it be counted as experience?

@Arlene_benavidez: Hi Mam, I'm a filipina nurse too.. I just want to ask on how to apply as nurse in Saudi? Is there any experience required? Actually I worked here in Qatar as Nurse trainee but my employer fooled me and did not submit my papers at Supreme Council...And because of that..my time and efforts are just wasted... I thought that I will be able to get my license in about 18 months...Does your sister worked as a Staff Nurse in a Tertiary hospital in Saudi or just a medical center or clinic the same here in Qatar? Please kindly email me so we can talk about it: my email is: [email protected] Thank you and hope to here from you soon..

same case with my sister (Nurse-Board Passer), unfortunately she did not able to get her license here in doha coz of the minimum requirements in working experience - same field. She works in Apollo Clinic before as aide assistant but i iopted to send her back home, coz its very hard to work here if you dont have an enough experience to apply for a license. Right now, my sister is in Riyadh completing her needed working experience, and inshallah she will be back here in doha on September, after 2 years.

If you will take my advice, i will rather asks you to finish your 2 years working experience in Philippines or try to look for a reputable hospital in Saudi as your stepping stone experience. Most of the nurses here are all came from Saudi. You can PM me for some other advises:)

What about the Nursing Trainee certificate? Will it count as experience? Also, should I turn down the employer then or should I go for it and just hope to be promoted as a staff nurse or something?

no, its like a nursing aide so it wont be counted as a nursing clinical experience.
