We are thinking of purchasing the new XC60. I'm looking for input about it. How's the service, running costs, availability of spare parts, etc.? Or other adventages and disadventages of the car I should know about.
* Is it made up of ice that get melt in sun or Plastic to get melt under sun or only Europe has cold climate, snow fall and america and Germany does not.
Correct Answer- Volvo use boron steel which is stronger among the steel quality. Volvo paint has 5 years warranty and practically last as new even after 8 years proven.
Number 1 in safety- Durability -
Interior and Leather- Volvo use nappa leather in all cars.
Maintenance- If you have a dealership for past 10-15 years in Qatar how come a technician cannot repair a car which has only 3 types of engines and how come parts are not available.
*The only fact is you cannot find duplicate parts for volvo in market as other japanies car do.
People those who have never driven any car above nissan and toyota will never now why people buy different grade cars-
I have 5 year old XC60. It looks like new, has the best a/c of any car I've ever been in. Great performance - I love outstripping the Land Cruisers from the lights - handles like a car, and has never broken down. Our main reason for purchase, which no one seems to mention here, is that it is the safest car in it's class - ideal for a country which officially has the most dangerous roads in the world. It has City Safety, Blind spot indicators and Adaptive cruise control - 2 years before Ford 'invented' it. It's full leather interior and looks utterly bland new. I could not recommend it highly enough. After 5 years we're now leaving and selling it for 100k - cost us 200k new. That level of depreciation is pretty reasonable to me.
Keep away of any Europion or American car. Just buy Nissan and Toyota. These two are like dollor. Easy to repair and easy to get spear parts and much more............
I've had a couple of Volvos in Qatar an XC90 and an S80. They are great cars to drive but are made for temperatures below zero. The excessive heat in Qatar makes the car deteriorate rapidly especially the interior, leather seats and plastic on the exterior.
Any maintenance has to be done by the dealer for lack of parts and expertise elsewhere. One thing to note though the Volvo service interval is 10,000km compared to Nissan's 5,000 Km so you are paying for fewer services overall.
If you really want to know about how your XC60 will look in a few years time, go and look at some used models.
generally European cars are not recommended in Qatar due to the weather condition and the fact that there are no sufficient experienced mechanics who can repair it if required (including the main dealer)
if u like a specific model & u want to buy a brand new car it's OK but keep in mind the depreciation rate which is very huge comparing with the Japanese cars.
regular maintenance & service cost will be acceptable but the major repairs will be unbearable.

Same as Honda... cause same same workshop and same same mechanics...
