First Visa Application Lost-Resubmitting another one-Is this common?

Hello Friends:
My future employer in Doha mentioned that the first visa application he submitted on my behalf may have been lost at the Qatar office - Therefore, they are planning to resubmit another application. They submitted the first one on Feb 24, 2013 and have not heard anything from the office so far..Is this common at the Qatar office? Did anyone go through similar situation like mine? My company is a Civil Engineering Consulting Company. Thanks for your inputs.

It very rare ...... If it was submitted by hand there is a possibility to have lost the application .... May be they don't have your Nationality Visa in hand and that is taking more time..
