Gym, Health Clubs or Recreation Centers
I have seen several old threads (2006 to 2008) about gyms memberships and are mostly about gym/workouts. I would like some feedback on the pool, training staff, how it was maintained, etc. I figured allot has changed some most of these threads were last posted (although, there are some from 2012).
Here are some links to the old threads for others that are interested:

And here is some threads for the Ladies. The first one is one of the best informational posts I'm seen on a gym for women only. Don't know if it's still valid, but a good starting place for you ladies to start looking.

For me, I would like to get some updated feedback on Doha gyms and pools, especially around or near the Al Sadd area. Looking for Name, locations, what you thought of the facilities (or what you have heard) and most importantly, how much for a monthly or quarterly membership. I'm trying to figure out if it's better got pay extra (premium) on an already overprices apartment, of if I can got with gym membership w/ a pool.
Thanks in advanced to all that reply. I will try to consolidate the other threads and posts in here so we can keep this information up to date (if that is possible).

Losing weight is one of the most common resolutions. If you’re longing to lose some pounds by joining a gym, the Better Business Bureau recommends asking 10 questions before signing a contract. About 9,400 grievances were filed last year against fitness professionals, fitness centers and health clubs. Thus, be careful you are not signing a contract you haven’t read. More information: Better Business Bureau.
I guess you can't believe everything you read on the internet. Thanks G-48
Have an Olympic size swimming pool and I understand there is a swimming club in them.
Regards!!!
I have not seen a post on Hilal. They was a post in the links above about a nice gym in Najma and the hotel gyms, which are the closest to Hilal.
I haven't heard of that one yet. I like the area around the Al Sadd Sports club, but their website doesn't have information on membership on their gym. And I understand they don't have a pool.
I should note that I am a westerner. I not looking for a westerner compound for my apartment, gym and pool. But I also am not looking for a labor camp set up and features.
Hi Mike,
Can you tell me which is the nearest or any gym ..in Hilal area........pls let know.....
Sam
