Pre marital Medical Check Up

JohnnyBravo
By JohnnyBravo

Why is Premarital Medical Check up is necessary in Qatar. What do they check in that Test? and if there is anything suspicious, do they let it know to both of the parties e.g. if the girl / boy is having a disease or if both or one of them is not virgin?

I can't remember Sincerelyurs, as far as I know we both went to the same nurse.

"genetic and hereditary ailments" They don't have to mention first cousins, but the fact that they have such a high rate of genetic and hereditary ailments is due to so many first cousin marriages. It's in the papers all the time.

When this testing thing came out 5 years ago, it was reported in the papers as an important measure to try curb the number of disabilities related to cousins marrying.

If you don't like that it for those reasons, then thats your problem. Genetics in humans, especially those that are closely related is very dicey. Not saying every child born to cousins will have a disability, but the ratio of these instances is higher, especially when first cousins marry each other, then their sister/brothers marry each other, then their children marry each other.

Some people need to go back to studying biology.

PP pls give time to edit her comments she gave in a bit of confused state reg first Cousins related to children disability

The pre-marriage check-up is done to test couples for infectious diseases like HIV, hepatitis and genetic and hereditary ailments to prevent them from giving birth to children with complicated diseases, deformities or abnormalities. Now tell me is there anywhere mentioned about first cousins, if not why have u mentioned about the first cousins?

if it is the right of speech den i dnt need any answer

What are the chances and the degree of disability of the child if someone marries a second cousin thrice removed?

Is there any virginity test for first cousins.????

By Miss Mimi• 19 Feb 2013 14:10

It's a test for all, as they can't target specific marriages.

By Pappu_Pager• 19 Feb 2013 14:08

is the test for all or only for those who are first cousins and getting married

I was speaking about my case, not all cases. Where did I say "Because ALL babies born with disabilities are because their parents are first cousins"

The testing they do is to find genetic problems, mostly caused by first cousin marriages. Hence, why my husband and I didn't have any of those problems.

By Pappu_Pager• 19 Feb 2013 13:58
Pappu_Pager

who is the speaker here "In other words, we weren't first cousins and our babies wouldn't be born with disabilities and health problems"

In India I have. Seen cases where girl is having hole I. Heart and without telling the groom n his family she gets married and later on boy faces all the trauma....I m NOT saying that ill health girls shouldn't get married but at.east tell the groom n his family first..... I m O negative blod group member and my parents told my in laws in the first stage only during the marriage talks... I have also seen Grooms also hiding the facts from girl n her family that they are suffering from Asthma or some Severe dental problems..... What is the harm in getting prenatal medical examinations?is it come to know about each others health after all it is a start of new life.....Isn't it?

Did I say that PP? However the reason Qatar started requiring this was because of the high amount of children being born with disabilities DUE to their parents being first cousins, and they carried too similar DNA (including all the same genetic diseases).

By Pappu_Pager• 19 Feb 2013 13:32

new theory "all the diable children's parents are first cousins"

We didn't have the genetic predispositions for any genetic diseases. In other words, we weren't first cousins and our babies wouldn't be born with disabilities and health problems.

Kaderbasha I did the tests 3 years ago, when I married my husband in Qatar.

Petjack, it's only relevant to couples getting married in Qatar. If you marry outside of Qatar you don't have to do it.

It's a standard blood test for genetic diseases like Thalassemia.

You'll be called in and told what the results are.

It has nothing to do with virginity.
