Looks bungee jumping is available in doha!

Spring festival starts from todayl in souq waqif and i heard there world be bungee jumping.

I wanna do the jump but i don't want to be the first one.

I doubt how good it will be . in souq waqif they will probably throw me out from a crane which is scary but no way close to the real experience ehh?

has anyone been there?

Hi ckaryas, that sport is a sky dive simulator. You can find the same in Dubai as iFly Dubai in the play nation of mirdif mall.

You can checkout this link.

dash201, I am Sorry to say that you are wrong. The safety was perfect, there were paramedics readily available and the protection was apt and there is a safety balloon on the floor just incase.

This is Doha. You shouldn't jump. I have learnt that anything considered to be a good idea anywhere else in the world is a bad idea here. Pretty sure that if it is an 80 foot drop, they'll use a 90 foot bungee...

there is this other "flying sport" we saw last night *Friday at souq waqif...

what do you call that activity where a person gets on a suit, dives on top of a giant fan and stay on air...

that might be exciting too... wish i could muster courage to try that... maybe after a beer or two...

:)

i did the jump and i survived!

not bad afterall! the experience was priceles!!

and they are here till 21st feb 2013.

you need to sign a weaver form and pay 100 qr.

i think they support a max of 150 kg

So a school teacher that came to Qatar from India to work as an electrician and then got a job as a bungee cord weaver and attacher is getting a bit more experience.

Bungee jumping in Doha? Are you mad? The Doh in Doha is there for a good reason!

this is exciting... but i am acrophobic... hahaha

are we talking about bungee jumping like the ones jumping off a bridge?

what do you call that stuff where one gets strapped and roped on the waist... he goes jumping up and down the air, while someone's pulling the ropes...

:)

Why thank you :D

And well, you said 'AT-LEAST by 5 years'. So, if 5+5=40... go figure :P

DeadMan.

On a serious note, the jump can be dangerous if proper caution is not taken. The biggest risk is the cord itself, as it can get tangled in ones throat and choke him. That is why it is normally strapped around your legs.

Secondly, when you jump, jump as far as you can from the stand. Don't be afraid for that moment. If you miss that big stride forward, then you might be in a problem. Mostly there is a pusher who stands behind to give you a big push forward to avoid such a situation. But if there is none, then make sure you jump as far from the platform as possible.

ckaryas: They check your blood pressure and ask for any medical history of heart associated problems.

But make sure that you do it on empty stomach. Dont know about the procedure here in qatar.

In a moment of depression I tried to commit suicide using Rizks' bungee cord..

Nearly broke my neck when I hit my head against the ceiling :O(
