Communicating with Aliens

Communicating with Aliens

BlueBull
By BlueBull

There might be a possibility of a visit from intelligent life in the near future going by an increase in the evidence of extra terrestial activity. I'm seriously concerned about the medium of communication we need to use to make the visit amiable. A slight mistake can lead to disaster for mankind.

Communication with extraterrestrial intelligence (CETI) is a branch of the search for extraterrestrial intelligence that focuses on composing and deciphering messages that could theoretically be understood by another technological civilization. The best-known CETI experiment was the 1973 Arecibo message composed by Frank Drake and Carl Sagan. There are multiple independent organizations and individuals engaged in CETI research; the abbreviations CETI and SETI alone should not be taken as referring to any particular organization (such as the SETI Institute).

CETI research has focused on four broad areas: mathematical languages, pictorial systems such as the Arecibo message, algorithmic communication systems (ACETI) and computational approaches to detecting and deciphering "natural" language communication. There remain many undeciphered writing systems in human communication, such as Linear A, discovered by archeologists. Much of the research effort is directed at how to overcome similar problems of decipherment which arise in many scenarios of interplanetary communication.

Thelo - Like I said above; Not having a proof of existence does not imply that they do not actually exist. Thats like the God question.

You can communicate now with alien.. I'm using right now.. my Alienware laptop.. LOL

Painther - Brilliant point.

Thelo - Infact if you read what Painther said above, you'll realize that there has been no concrete proof of Alines Not Existing either.

well, if, as BB says, our current science knowledge is limited to prove existence of aliens, then, there's another way (a proven one historically) to establish if Aliens exist, is by LOGIC,

Do Aliens exist, logically?

BB, Drake's equation is a number but the inputs are based on some assumptions...so I feel you should now rest your case..:)

By BlueBull• 23 Jan 2013 20:25
BlueBull

Tinku - You didnt understand any of it then. Drake's Equation gives a NUMBER as an answer.

By BlueBull• 23 Jan 2013 17:23
BlueBull

Thelo - Your assumption is wrong. Aliens exist. They are yet to be discovered.

By BlueBull• 23 Jan 2013 16:16

This probability cannot become a fact unless we advance scientifically. Scientific proof exists in the form of Drake's Equation: The Drake equation is a mathematical equation used to estimate the number of detectable extraterrestrial civilizations in the Milky Way galaxy.

By BlueBull• 23 Jan 2013 16:12

Aliens do exist Thelo. The lack of scientific proof attributable to our own level of scientific achievements

cannot negate the fact of their existance.

Scientists leading its development have suggested the Square Kilometer Array (SKA) will be 50 times more sensitive, and will survey the sky 10,000 times faster, than any other telescope . "It will give astronomers insight into the formation and evolution of the first stars and galaxies after the Big Bang, the role of cosmic magnetism, the nature of gravity and possibly even life beyond," a spokesman for the SKA said.

"If there is a civilization within 100 lightyears this telescope could find it. We are now beginning to have the technology whether it's the SKA or maybe other telescopes that are being developed that will allow these possibilities. We are searching all the time for a shadow earth," Pope added. Recent research suggested that nearly 10 % of the population has seen a UFO, equally more than 6 million people just in the UK. "When I was investigating UFOs, I investigated 2-300 reports each year. 10 per cent is an absolutely astonishing figure," Pope added.

The Vaimanika Shastra is an early 20th century Sanskrit text on aeronautics, claimed to be obtained by mental channeling, about the construction of vimānas, the "chariots of the Gods".

The existence of the text was revealed in 1952 by G. R. Josyer, according to whom it is due to one Pandit Subbaraya Shastry, who dictated it in 1918–1923. A Hindi translation was published in 1959, the Sanskrit text with an English translation in 1973. It has 3000 shlokas in 8 chapters and was attributed by Shastry to Maharishi Bharadvaja,[15] which makes it of purportedly "ancient" origin, and hence it has a certain notability in ancient astronaut theories.

A study by aeronautical and mechanical engineering at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 1974 concluded that the aircraft described in the text were "poor concoctions" and that the author showed complete lack of understanding of aeronautics.[16]

Brite - One explanation in favour of Mathematics as the medium of communication could be - The Universe has a common origin, the Big Bang, the laws of physics are the same everywhere. If the extraterrestrials are sufficiently intelligent, they would have discovered the same laws governing our world and Universe, as their own. Mathematical equations would have to be the same. No translation required. If you show the alien, Newton's universal gravitation equation, the alien would immediately recognize it -- instant communication. Nature is best described by calculus and differential equations. Everything in nature from the atom to galaxies can be described by the appropriate set of differential equations. Newton's second law, F = ma is one example of a differential equation. The space-time fabric of the Universe itself, is made of number.

The answer is music tones.

Through research. And btw, English is a beautiful language but has a grammar which can be confusing to the Aliens. We don't want confusion.

Tah - I focus on Alien matters.

By BlueBull• 23 Jan 2013 13:05

I believe Mathematics could be the answer. Mathematics is a universal language and exists in some form or another through out the universe. It's also independent of Time. So no matter which universe you belong to, you'll still use Mathematics.
