Penalty For Not Collecting Number Plates ?
I have not collected the number plate after recieving the SMS, they have mentioned like if we dont collect it in 30 days, it will be disposed.
If i go now, will they charge me or my new plates will be still available there ?
anybody collected their number plates after 30 days ?

@ Nigel, just visit the Khalifa traffic(plate section) & give/verify your registration card with the counter. Just tell that you not receive any sms until now. Hopefully it is still available, if not pay 200 rials to the ladies in the counter. You can do all of these up until 10:00 Pm daily except Friday & Saturday.
In my case, I renewed my car registration last October. I was asked the plate number size for my car and I told them. From that time I did not receive any notice or sms that my plate number is ready. Can I follow it up and where?

you paid 300 QAR, because you didnt collected it within 30 days from the message date ??
some people says its 200 QAR, that is 100 Riyals for each plate.

First,when you receive their sms, they'll inform you where to collect the plates.Now a days, it's in Duhail. If more than a month, could still try to go and check if the plate is with them. In the event they direct you or inform you that the plates are gone, then you need to go back to Khalifa Traffic(plate section) to ask for a duplicate of your plates. you pay 200 rials. If they tell you to come back after 2 days, don't believe them they take more than 2 weeks, however if you stay near Khalifa, pass by late afternoon or evening to check your plates. Btw, they might ask you to present the vehicle for inspection just to make sure that you still have the old plates with you. I'd done this recently.

yeah i payed 300 qr for the new plate!!
but usually they send it to madina khalifa and then to a place after gharaffa i forgot the name !
yes if you are lucky they will still have them, just go and check, if not they you have to pay for them again.
