Have you noticed now in a lot of taxis that the portion of the sticker on the window that used to say "if the meter isn't used the trip is free" has been scratched out by the drivers?

By buddyjun• 1 Jan 2013 13:08
buddyjun

the commercial ad from karwa wherein a taxi driver who does not use meter is considered a free ride or a free of charge does not prevail! they should be strictly monitored since it is not abiding the law! right?

OMG. There are dishonest taxi drivers in Doha?

This is the first I've ever heard about such a scandal.

By amdi• 1 Jan 2013 12:17

not only this even there are some karwa drivers who dnt even start there meter and charge any amount .

By oray• 1 Jan 2013 12:03
oray

They got license to work on taxi services from Karwa, but they are not belong to Karwa, so each company has own tariff

Is it authorised for AlMillion to take Service charge

By GREATQATAR• 1 Jan 2013 11:46
GREATQATAR

Al Million uses SERVICE TAX ! Which is 2% of total fare !

By Khanan• 1 Jan 2013 11:46

concerned companies or Consumer Protection Department.

As per my understanding, the taxi rate is uniform for all the operators.

By RADIUS• 1 Jan 2013 11:36
RADIUS

maybe due to accuracy of the meter machine calibration.

Guilt, that happens as well. i was vicitim of this once, when i went from Salwa road to Villagio and back forth. both charges came different.

had an argument with the driver and the end i found that he was using night tariff in the day time :(

This is the not the problem of Money but it must not be done under a country with lots of rule and security.

11 minutes both taxis .... moorning shift ... teeeet

By anonymous• 1 Jan 2013 11:11

Both bills are of this morning and there is no night journey involved. I think that the Al Million over charged you with Night fare.

By osamabawab• 1 Jan 2013 11:07

anyway TFS, this is not about QR.2/- but about the concept

By britexpat• 1 Jan 2013 11:06

I really don't see the issue. As in most other counries, different taxi firms have varying tarrif charges.

now, you know, perhaps you will not use the expensive one again..

By osamabawab• 1 Jan 2013 11:05
osamabawab

it seems that al-million taxi driver set the tariff mode to something other than the "day fare mode" so that he can get more money

and al-ijarah driver seems to be honest to set it in the correct mode.

By anonymous• 1 Jan 2013 11:04

I guess they are using Tariff 3 after 9 in the night. so obvioulsy charges are little high.

By GodFather.• 1 Jan 2013 11:01

The first used the Day rate and the second one used the Tariff 3 what ever that means.
