As from 13th May 2010, in Qatar, cheques which are post dated may be presented for payment earlier than the date specified on the cheque.

thus are big issues, so many tellers in a bank fall in such mistakes, then the staff pay the amount from his pocket just so the bank wont discover this mistake or try to talk to the customer and solve it before it reaches the management just so the managment wont take any action against the employee.
few tellers earn QR 7000 (including the allowances) and pay (QR 3000) for such mistakes.....

there is no way that a cheque could be drawn before it's date, it's against the regulations of any country, the publisher of the cheque could sue the bank for such act, and the bank should return the amount to the customer's account, and if there are any returned cheques charges or any action taken against the account holder, the bank is being liable to it, plus an apology letter, and if the customer is not satisfied, then the case should be transfered to the court and the bank may pay the account holder a huge amount just to satisfy him after giving him a bad reputation within the market ...
Even so, I have a way to stop post checkers to cash thier money...
If you gave checks to untrusted person or with doubt, you simply can go to the bank immediatly afterwards and change your signature, so the check will return for unverified signature, and the presenter will have to return to the check owner.

Cannot be that way but probably in an exceptional cases. Banks would not just flout their regulations.
of a post dated cheque is... if not to give the person the right to draw money on the date of the cheque, not before.... ie... if I had the money on the day the cheque was issued... there would be no need for the cheque to be post dated.... *dingbats*
