Japanese architect designs for Qatar
Acclaimed Japanese architect, Sou Fujimoto, has displayed two new concept proposals, including of a commercial complex and a tower cooled by a series of waterfalls, that appeared to be designed for Doha. The design's come from including concepts from both nature and architecture.
The first proposal is project called Souk Mirage/Particles of Light, which focuses on retail and consists of arches stacked on top of each other (designed to look like silhouette made by Bedouin tents). That complex would include retail, residential, and office space, as well as courtyards and a plaza, states design website Fast Company.
Meanwhile, the second project is a building called Outlook Tower, "which is to be located on a waterfront and designed to look from a distance like a mirage. It would be cooled by the mist of several waterfalls flowing from the top of the building."
It is not clear yet where they will be sitauated as they have been described as being set in an “anonymous Middle Eastern city,” but the Souk Mirage project is to be located between Education City and Financial Center. Several known landmarks located in the Dafna/West Bay area are seen in the background.

Consultants are at fault .......

It is rather strange. The west is moving towards green buildings which have long term sustainability and reduced maintenance costs. Qatar seems to be going the other way.
What's the cost ...... ?

They both look over the top and expensive to boot.
