DHL rates Day light robbery?!

Hi just a quick question, Some family members recently sent passport documents to Abu Dhabi by DHl and were charged QR850 ,surely this is too much for one envelope you could have got a return flight and delivered it yourself for less and I have been told that its only QR 250 to get British passport documents sent all the way to Germany(where they develop the passport technology) so were they over charged or is this 'daylight robbery' common place here at DHL?

Sorry, but this is the actual rate for sending documents such as Passports, Birth Certificates etc etc. It's for the protection and insurance of your documents inside the envelope.

My family and I usually send all our passports at the same time in one envelope to save money, otherwise it's almost 500qr a piece. It's money well spent to make sure they don't get into the hands of someone that can misuse them (identity theft, open Credit Cards, etc etc).

If you want to test, just send a normal document to the same country and it shouldn't cost you more then 25 QR :)

You got robbed alright. Just sent our passport renewal documents to new Zealand and they cost QR.60.00 via Aramex. Cost pretty much the same to post them back. You could have bought a plane ticket to Abu and taken them there yourself and had a nice break.
