Hello,
My wife gave birth on the 26 of last month. so we starts seeking a good pediatrics in Doha.
would anyone please recommend a good one based on experience and not relationship?
We met a DR. in Al-Ahly, he didn't seems that he's interested very much in our questions as he spent the time working on his PC.

Having a regular doctor that you can see is good (I recommend Dr. Atiya), but bear in mind that if you ever need one out of hours (more often than not, you will) you will need to go to the nearest Pediatric Emergency Unit to you. This depends where you live. The biggest is Al Saad.

I personally recommend the Government clinics. Every time I have had an emergency (or a simple visit) with my kids, they have been outstanding.

It's quick (in Al Ahli I sometimes wait hours!), professional and best of all, won't cost you and arm and a leg. Plus don't forget, they see hundreds of patients a day.........and you can't beat experience.

If you are not satisfied then you can always go down the road to the private hospital, but I can pretty much guarantee you won't need to.

Locate you nearest pediatric clinic (the number of a clinic should be printed on the back of your health card, check if it has pediatrics), and drive the route so that you know how to get there in an emergency, just in case you ever need it.

And if you ever do get caught out, call 999 and ask them where your nearest one is. They will connect you to them and you can talk to a doctor. If required they will send an ambulance. Hope that is never needed though. ;)

Eid Mubarak to all!

I would say Dra. Attiya of Al Ahli as well. However, I can also say that Dr. Ateef of Doha Clinic was reasonably good as well.

cannot recommend a regular one as all the ones ive tried in private hosipital i havent been happy with and some of them arent always available. people swear by Doha clinic, i tried it but wasnt impressed. I can say the i am impressed with Peadatric Emergency clinic in Al Saad and they will treat your kids even if its not an emergency, had great expeirences their and the wait is practically non existent, unlike some places where you have to wait for hours. Love the Drs there, very friendly and polite. I wont go anywhere else. The down side is that you wont always get to see the same Dr.

Try Dr. Atia in Al-Ahli.. she's the head of the paediatric ward in the hospital. One of the most knowledgeable, respected, polite and most professional in the industry. Very rare indeed in Doha! because she is good... and due to her popularity especially with the locals, she's can be very busy..
