australian expats with kids - cost questions
Hi,
Need to have a realistic idea of schooling and cost of living for a family of 5. 2 adults and boys 6,9,11 years.
From what i can see schooling on a Aust / English curriculum will cost about 35,000 per year. Any idea on how much you get hit for extras? - registrations, security deposits, building funds, school sports etc.
Also, although vague, if i want to be in eng/aust schools, roughly what areas are good to look at for rentals? i'll be working near the airport. We'd need to have a bit of space to live in. have an allowance per annum of 140k.
Finally, rough costs for getting out and about with kids, being entertained on weekends a bit, play some sport, eat out, etc.

Your housing allowance is low for a family of five. I'd estimate you need 16,000/mo for a four bedroom villa in a nice compound.
