ICD Coder Job Description:

Compile, abstract and maintain patient medical records to document condition and treatment.
Review records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with regulations.
Release information to persons and agencies according to regulations.
Protect the security of medical records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained.
Identify, compile and code patient data, using ICD-9 / 10 and other standard classification coding systems.

Medical Record Administrator Job Description:

As a medical coding and billing professional, you will review patient medical records and assign codes to diagnoses and procedures performed so the facility can bill insurance and other third-party payers as well as the patient.

Review records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with regulations.
