Description
Sr. Project Engineer – BMS and Allied Systems RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL: Under general direction, responsible for the design, configuration and operation of complete building control systems including Building Management Systems, Smart Metering Systems, and other low voltage control sub-systems (i.e. lightning, Central Battery Inverters etc.) to meet the intent of the project requirements. Accountable to Project Manager for quality, timeliness and efficiency of designs. Supports in the commissioning and troubleshooting to ensure proper operations of the building control system. Provides detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, Johnson Controls field installation team and subcontractors.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES: 1. Designs and configures technically complex building control systems as defined by the contract documents. Be able to create flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts and electrical schematics as required. 2. Act on instructions and develop engineered solutions to meet the specification requirements. 3. Coordinates and creates necessary documentation, drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation. 4. Coordinates the onsite installation works with the field installation teams. 5. Collects the field change information from the field installation teams and coordinates with the drafting team for the creation of shop drawings, redline drawings, as-built drawings and O&M manuals and other close out documentation. 6. Keeps management informed of job progress and issues by consolidating the status reports from the field installation teams. 7. Assists in performing site-specific training for owner / operator on the total building control system. 8. Participates in meetings with the project field team. 9. Works under the general direction of the Project Manager and carries out the tasks as instructed. 10. Provide work direction to System Supervisors and Technicians. 11. Adheres to safety standards. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of 10 years related experience. Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
