Description

An International Engineering Company in Qatar is looking for a well-experienced Laboratory Tech. Assistant.

Main Responsilities:

1. Manage inventory to maintain laboratory functions, including support to the on-line instrumentation of the plant. 

 2. Be proactive in regards to laboratory OHS and environmental issues.3. Calibrate and maintain laboratory and on-line instruments and equipements.4. Perform routine sampling and lab. testing in accordance with internal and relevant Australian/International Standards.5. Perform ad-hoc sampling and lab. testing during abnormal events as required.6. Instruct and oversee operational staff in regards to correct sampling ang lab. techniques.7. Review, interpret and report on plant performance and water quality data and liaise with process controllers, operational assistants and managers.8. Manage the delivery and preparation of samples and containers for external analysis.9. Review, interpret and report on water quality data from both external lab. and internal data.10. Develop all the initial documentation set required to work in the lab. and to perform the regular duties described above. 11. Understand the process and the risks of each process unit in the plant.12. Adhere to all safety and environmentak requirements.13. Other duties as required.

Desired Skills & Experience

Laboratory Tech. Assistant with the following qualification: 1. Should have a Tertiary qualifications in laboratoty of chemical based descipline. 2. Lab. experience in water, wasterwater or other production similar facilities, particularly in undertakings experiment to validate plant performance. 3. Familiarity in use of PC and a range of software. 4. Experience in water treatment chemistry and instrumentation. 5. Knowledge in quality assurance. 6. 2-3 years in similar position.
