Hi there, my name is Omar, I am a freelance journalist from Portland Oregon, but have lived in Qatar for 15 years. I am looking to write about alternative activities in Qatar to make them more known to the public. Table top gaming seems to be relatively unknown here and I would love to make the public more aware of it.

So if you dont mind, might I sit at one of your games and do a couple of short interviews with your group when convenient?

...still, I've been in Qatar for a few months now and I've been hoping there's still somebody interested around.

I'm 28, I'm a former M:tG player (still have a couple of decks ready somewhere, but I kinda lost interest in it) and I've been a DM (and, very occasionally, a player) of D&D (2, 3/3.5 and 4) for a very long time, back home. Had to abruptly stop playing when I had to move to Qatar.

I also have most of the 4th Edition D&D manuals.

I've been craving to find a new group. Please tell me I'm not alone! :)

I am not really familar with these games but it sounds like something I would enjoy and wouldnt mind learning. I have played Magic the gathering off and on for 13 years so I really like to find some people to play that but this sounds like a nice alternative. Can somebody pm me more info? Thanks!

Thanks to all that posted, I knew fellow gamers were out there.

Right now, we're playing the board game settlers of catan, because it's easy to play as a pick up "get to know you game", that is also a lot of fun, too.

I plan on running an AD&D 2ed game in the near future. I picked 2ed ed because that's what I have all the book for (actually I have almost ALL the books up to 3.5! Aren't I the biggest geek!) But, I've also picked 2ed because that's what I know the best (and 1st ed).

I'm also open to playing in other games people have, too.

Don't worry I've played with lots of non-native speakers. And, Settlers of Catan is an easy game to learn to play.
