Hello All,

I currently am in talks with an Geotechnical Company which is ready to offer me a job with a salary of about 9000-10000 QAR, with NO accommodation and daily transport, but they will give ticket for my travel from India and medical and health insurances.

I have 5 years of experience and I am married. The company is not paying for the ticket for my wife to travel.

So wanted to know whether is it offer worth taking.

Please guide me,

Sravan

I think coming to Qatar is little risky specialy coming to private sector its either doctor or executive class. Compare to other place in gulf Qatar is little uncertain place. Usually employee not getting salary on time and on leaving employers are not willing to give the gratuity and other end of service benefits. In my view before taking any risk of coming to Qatar better explore some alternative. and cost of living very high. So be carefull before joining any private sector and once you join, you will not be having much options.

that's a good offer already. given the fact that you only have 5 years experience.

If she is on spouse I mean under your sponsorship she can work without a work visa... Comparatively, ladies under father/husband's sponsorship earn more than single ladies.

Thanks for your replies, If I bargain higher and get more than 10,000 QAR per month, and my wife comes on family visa, is she eligible for work or she needs to apply for work visa?

Not Enough. People with your profession and experience are earning more.

then you don't qualify to apply for family sponsorship and your wife can't stay.

u hv nt mentioned ur Qualification and designation, but on the basis of experience 10K is a decent pay pack, since family stay will cost you somewhere around 4k if you get decent shared family accommodation (you may not be familiar with shared family accommodation :)..however..

Please check other details as well. Like..

1. Total Working days in a week if you are worked for 5 days a week

2. Total number of Public Holidays

3. availability of Compensatory off if worked on weekends or Public Holidays

4. Total Annual Leave:

a) Is it calender days or working days?

b) whether weekends and public holidays are included while arriving at total leaves

c) Annual return ticket

5. Since your company is not paying your wife's air ticket, check whether the company will give Family VISA or not

Molten Metal is right. If you will bring your family here you need more than 10 k to live a life.
