Lol. so true anonyalkult. besides things tend to fall off Aussie planes these days. i prefer emirates! but i think in general most people support those strikes because they are not planned without serious discussion and only as a last resort.

Anonyalkult, in my country its legal and the pilots do go on strike during vacation time as its most effective, the bus drivers go on strike in the peak hours as its most effective, the school teachers go on strike during class time and the nurses go on strike anytime!
it ain't illegal , you can go on strike , but you should have the right reasons and it should be a friendly one...
during the strike , the'll call labor department folks , and then you'll have what u want on the spot ,your manager will come and will have written agreement signed by all parties , and the labor department as witness that he'll give you all your benefits!!!
It is illegal anywhere. Just imagine if the pilots are on strike when you want to go on vacation, whatever be the reason. Just imagine the police men are on strike when you go to complain if some one thrashes you, whatever be the reason. Just imagine the doctors are on strike when you take your son critically ill to the hospital. Yes, whatever be the reason. The rights of the society comes far ahead of that of the individual.

Yes,it is illegal my friend...approach the labour department & explain your problem to them,no guarantees but you wouldn't know without trying eh? also you could approach your embassy for help...good luck
