Windows Vista is History?????

Microsoft has unveiled the latest version of its Windows operating system.

It promised that it will deliver a better experience for users when it arrives sometime late next year.

Windows 7 follows Vista, which Microsoft claims has been a success, but which has been subject to fierce criticism from a number of users.

XP is fine, as is Vista. I like Vista's ease of network connections not afforded by XP, But hate the bloatware that is Vista.

If I could find decent Mac or Linux software, readily available and/or cheap enough I'd be a convert.

Did you Google it first?

have to agree that Vista with Service Pack 1 is descent enough and with Service Pack 2 for vista under testing to be released next year, MS is hoping for its acceptance.

But most people are reluctant to change as XP is stable and Microsoft's most successful Operating System. Vista is good for individual home users but when it comes to mass acceptance and deployment in Organizations it still remains a big NO!

about time! Vista took the very worst parts of previous systems and attempted to make it work like a mac.

needless to say, it failed.

I loathe it, and will happily do a dance of glee in celebration of it's demise.

and works great. IMHO better then XP any day. There are some weaknesses but as new drivers and updates are released, these gaps will be filled. It's pretty solid now.

I am afraid of any new Microsoft innovation. Don't want anything to do with it till at least Service PAck 2 comes out :)
