Validity of Diamonds in the Souqs

Can anyone please tell me if the diamond rings in the gold souq's are safe to purchase? If so, is there a shop in particular that is legitimate. Please give me real advice!

I wanted to buy my wife a diamond for about 30K

Asked about certificate, shop said they would give me a cert but if I wanted a De Beers or equivalent Certificate the diamonds would cost about 40 000QR!

In other words the ones with a shop certificate were, quite possibly, Blood Diamonds.

Bought her a car instead!

and any of the shops is ok. This is strictly regulated and monitored by the baladiya.
